Yes. Commercial services to support lunar exploration would build the market beyond LEO. Increased commercial opportunities on the ISS will help to build markets for all sorts of orbital commerce, and increase the demand for commercial space transportation.

 

6. Do you think the NASA COTS program could be improved? If so how?
Yes. Accelerating the start of Capability D work would provide an earlier US capability for commercial human transportation to ISS and Bigelow destinations.

 

7. What do you see as the biggest barrier/obstacle to commercial space?
Availability of financing for space projects.

 

8. What do you think is the most important thing that NASA could do to support and promote commercial space?
But commercial services in all possible instances and give up building and operating competing government space vehicles.

A legal and regulatory infrastructure for orbital commerce needs to be developed and implemented.
